In other words, where is the most comfortable Russian in Spain? Or on this account you do not need to bother?

In Spain, the sea has many cities. But the most frequent destinations are Barcelona and Costa Blanca. Barcelona is like Paris. If you want to live in Paris, but by the sea, a big and noisy city, in which everything is (not only good, but also bad) – the Russian consulate, airport, negroes, pile of cafes, supermarkets, McDonald’s, boulevards, Catalan language, e. – then you are in Barcelona. If you do not take into account Barcelona, then Alicante and the surrounding area is a great place. The neighborhood is Torrevieja and Benidorm, Guardamar and Orihuela.
Benidorm is a special city. A heap of high-rise buildings, a small town by the area, lots of people, famous beaches, which is why in summer there are even more people, many hotels. Housing for sale is offered either in these skyscrapers, or in urbanization in the near Benidorme. In this regard, the neighboring towns of Calpe, Denia, Altea look more attractive, but this is already a village of urban type, for lovers of silence.
Alicante is the capital of the province. Also, as in Barcelona, there is an airport with flights from Russia, a railway with an express train to Madrid, a bunch of people traveling from the airport to their homes, many shops, a university and inexpensive housing.
Torrevieja is a little different city. Quiet, fairly calm, the lack of a piece of iron and an airport makes life easier for the local. The shops of Abaneras and Karefur can be envied by Moscow, and two salt lakes make the sea air drier, due to which a unique climate has developed in Torrevieja – relatively (the neighbors) not hot weather with sea and drier and clean air, very many days sunny weather.
To choose all the same to you. I advise you to come and see for yourself.
As for the school: do not bother anyone with the Russian school. Children here live, they need Spanish. Children adapt very quickly and learn Spanish very quickly. The school gives children even with zero Spanish of any age and in three months most of the children boldly communicate with their peers. In schools, while children do not learn Spanish, they do not ship with lessons, but on the contrary all teachers try to help with the language. It’s true, it’s true that most Russian children are excellent here. This is especially noticeable in those who studied at the Russian school for several years. And in the Russian school you can study in absentia in Madrid with the Russian embassy.

I think with my husband to buy an apartment in order to move to permanent residence. I lived 6 years about France, I have a French diploma – foreign trade (the first education is in English and German in Russia). The work is connected with import, I teach foreign languages, I am not ready for washing dishes – I have already passed through it.
At first, we thought about the border areas in the hope that it would be easier for me to be there with the French (and the language is a pity to lose, to be honest) – then read, consulted and understood that these were illusions, and in Spain without the Spanish, border, there is nothing to do. Since we do not have anything to do with life, we assume that it is more logical to consider large cities and their suburbs. Theoretically, I want to be closer to the sea – whether it be the Mediterranean or the Bay of Biscay. On the other hand, we are not attached to the city as such – a house in the village in 50-60 km would also suit us, because we “horsemen” and we are thinking about buying horses in the future (in particular, for horseback riding with Russian-speaking (in the first place) children.
Not millionaires and realists, so we try to weigh everything and find the best option.
Barcelona? Valencia? – these are the options that we have today liked in one way or another (they have also been chosen from the point of having universities with good reviews).
Share your experience and considerations, please!

The Spaniards are not friends with languages. But in the south of France, many speak Spanish. Given the prospects, do not forget that Spanish is Castilian. In Barcelona – Catalan, in Valencia – Valencian. It’s like Ukrainian and Belarusian.
The University is good and Alicante is, and nearby (30 km) also in Elche. But not far from Murcia, in which only the Castilian is a university.
Most Russians prefer to live by the sea. But for the same money you can buy the same or much more a house with a huge plot of 1 hectare at 40 km from the sea.
What to choose? Barcelona is a large city, many opportunities (and wishing), green nature, close France, many tourists.
Alicante – not so green, rather arid, away from car tourists and a smaller city.
Valencia is something average.
Look for accommodation with banks.
Yes. and consider that 40 km is 20 minutes.

Malaga is substantially south, there are hotter and more “southern” nationality IMHO.

I would only say about the northern half of Spain that the “southern” nationalities there is much less.
Santander is a beautiful city, and “southern” there, indeed, much less.
Added after 25 minutes 52 seconds:
There are Russian (semi) language (there are many such, unfortunately) children – Russian parents are very solvent.

I’ll try to answer the questions:
2) Spaniards with languages are not friends.
3) The University is good and Alicante is, and nearby (30 km) also in Elche.
4) Most Russians prefer to live by the sea. But for the same money you can buy the same or much more a house with a huge plot of 1 hectare at 40 km from the sea.
5) What to choose? Barcelona is a large city, many opportunities (and wishing), green nature, close France, many tourists.

1) I believe that we will definitively be determined on the spot – to go see what we will fall in love with. Or maybe, for the first time still consider only the apartment? – In any case, first one foot in Russia, the other in Spain. Her, if there is a university, you can take it for at least a little to pay for it. (I apologize for the reasoning aloud – interesting opinions are experienced ..)
2) I realized this very well. because at this stage, we all the same, what to teach – Catalan or Castilian.
3) thanks for the information, read about it.
4) heard about this. Therefore, I believe that we will determine finally on the spot ..
5) Thank you! valuable information, accepted.
The continent is preferable. And what happens in Marbella in the winter?
By the way, about the north of Spain: and there are a lot of French? (I understand perfectly well that perfection does not happen, but still concerned about how to arrange so that French does not lose)

Every time I come back from Spain, I sigh with sorrow, because under the current migration legislation, ordinary people (even middle-income people) can not see the residence permit, let alone the permanent residence of this wonderful kingdom as their ears. Buying a property does not give you the right to obtain a Spanish residence permit. You know? Only a multi-visa, for 180 days a year. Two times in 90. I’m not currently considering the options for travel related to the search for work-there are already a third of the country unemployed dangling. There remains the status of “rentier”, in which, in addition to buying real estate, paying all sorts of social, pension and health insurance, you must invest in a Spanish bank an amount not less than 100 000 Euros to obtain a residence permit, and to confirm legal income from outside from Russia-mother), or from investments in the economy of the kingdom, no less than 10 pieces per each nose in the family. This can only be done by a very very well-off person, as the citizen Korobeinikov said in the famous novel. By this, I’m tired of running race with the Spanish migration laws, I glance over the ocean, to a distant, but beautiful Uruguay. Very similar to southern Spain, only in South America. Yes, and Arab expansion there yet, thank God, did not get there.

If you tell me, then of course, of course. we will try to solve the problem of finding employment through friends. Otherwise, we will look for other options – there would be a desire, as they say.
Uruguay is far away. Europe, at least in our case, is more practical.
