Italy: Residence permit through investment.
Terms of the program.
It is expected that it will be possible to apply for an investor visa, which is identical to the residence permit (residence permit), from the autumn of 2017. To obtain a visa, it is necessary to make a significant contribution to the economy of the country. The Italian government offers several investment options:
– EUR 2 million in government bonds of Italy.
– EUR 1 million in assets of Italian companies or EUR 500,000 in a company that qualifies as innovative start-ups.
– EUR 1 million in socially significant projects in Italy (charitable contribution, investments are not refundable).
Consideration of the application for obtaining residence permit will take 90-120 days. The application may include relatives of the investor. The visa will be issued for 2 years with the possibility of extending for another 3 years provided that the investment is preserved. Investors are not required to permanently reside in the country, but they can not leave Italy for longer than 365 days. Five years after receiving the investor’s visa, you can apply for a permanent residence permit, and after five years – for Italian citizenship.
Residence permit of Italy allows you to travel without a visa to the countries of the Schengen zone. Italian citizenship gives the right to live and work in any country of the European Union.
