Immigration abroad.
Since the fall of the Iron Curtain, quite a lot of changes have occurred in the lives of Russian people. One of the most important was the openness of our society. All those who wish have free access to travel abroad for the purpose of obtaining an education, obtaining a residence permit or simply as a traveler.
In the 20th century, immigration abroad was considered something unethical, wrong and unnecessary. Many people who left the USSR were considered traitors and traitors to the Motherland. However, time passes, life changes, and the mentality of the inhabitants of our country becomes different. Every year after Perestroika immigration began to acquire an increasingly more meaningful character. For residents of Russia moving to a new place of residence is marked, above all, by positive changes in life. For most immigrants, the freedom to choose a country to live in is a very important aspect.
The very first and most popular country for Russian citizens was, of course, America. In the 80’s and 90’s of the last century, it was from the USA that they brought the most unusual things. It was in American English that the songs were played in all the clubs of that time. It was from America that the chewing gum and Coca-Cola moved to us. The unconditional advantage of moving to America was considered to be access to all these and many other things that were considered excess in our country. All the same goods and services are available at more favorable prices. The same applies to the purchase of inexpensive products produced in France, which to this day seeks a considerable flow of tourists and immigrants from Russia.
Thanks to television and the open policy of the country’s leadership, soon after America opened numerous resort countries, which subsequently immigrated many entrepreneurs from Russia. Indeed, many foreign countries (Egypt, for example) provide quite acceptable conditions for the development of entrepreneurship, not only for compatriots, but also for visiting businessmen. An open international economy now allows free movement of funds for deposits between countries, while working for profit.
The spread of the Internet also has a positive impact on the migration process. In recent years, the number of cases of international marriages, made through familiarity in the world’s way, has become particularly frequent. At the same time to marry abroad today is not something terrible and unusual – thanks to the same Internet. The network allows you to keep in touch with loved ones and friends through many hundreds of kilometers.
Foreign firms that have branches in many Russian cities attract Russian managers and other employees, while providing them with decent wages and are invited to work in the country where the firm has a head office. Such examples became more often reflected in the immigration of our compatriots. Also, many of the foreign companies invite our specialists to study abroad, after which they are employed there. It was thanks to the openness of society that many of the world-famous institutions became available, for example, Cambridge or Oxford in the UK. Many talented people go abroad to get a higher appreciation of their creativity. It’s singers, dancers, composers, and artists.
The undeniable advantage of immigration abroad is also the level of social living conditions abroad. In many countries, living at the expense of unemployment benefits or child benefits can provide life for the whole family. Such favorable conditions exist both in Britain and in Germany. By the way, at the end of the 20th century, many “Russian Germans” immigrated from Russia to Germany as a result of the opening of the borders. Several centuries ago, their ancestors Germans moved to Russia, and only now their descendants have the legal right to return to their historical homeland. The cities specially created for them are still popular with Russian tourists and Russian immigrants.
The further, the more immigration becomes more and more common.
